Wind down bedtime
Most of us will have arrived between 11am and 3pm at the AirBnb to drop off our things and get ready for the first evening!
Once we’re ready to start exploring and moving our legs, we will go into town to explore either the Downtown Mall or the UVA Grounds, near where I work/school. Which one depends entirely on the energy of the group and where we will be eating!
We can walk around the grounds before dinner, visit The Corner (it’s like a university version of downtown) and see where I spend most of my time!
Or.. we can walk the downtown mall if our restaurant is nearby!
My very first night in Cville was spent at a rooftop bar (Trophy Room!). I am hoping to find a spot with a patio where we can step out and take in the same views, and maybe you’ll go to bed as excited as I did on my first night!

After dinner we will head back to the AirBnB to wind down for bed

We will wake up early if the weather and the group favor a trail walk. If we decide not to do any outdoor walking, we can slow down and grab a longer brunch in town before exploring the vineyards!
If the leaves haven’t all dropped, we will go for a stroll through one of the more relaxing trails at Thomas Jefferson’s Monticello, where the boardwalks and well-worn paths will reduce the risks of typical national park hiking (like ticks).

Saunders-Monticello Trail
With native hardwood forest, deep ravines, and spectacular views of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Saunders-Monticello Trail winds its way toward Monticello and back in a very manageable four miles.
The Saunders-Monticello Trail is within a larger park system of trails that are open to the public daily. Please observe all signage at the park.
After our walk we can stop somewhere for lunch (Carter Mountain Orchard!), or head straight back to the AirBnb for lunch at “home” and some quality free time (shower, nap, use wifi, etc.). Do whatever you need to do to recharge; if there are water concerns some of us can go up to my house to shower as well.
Carter Mountain Orchard
Beginning at 11am, Carter Mountain Orchard offers food truck service from 11am - 3pm. Apart from the food trucks, there’s seasonal drinks like mulled wine and apple or peach cider!
During the Fall season there is ticketed ($10) entry.
Once we are all recharged and freshened up, we will make our way out to see some (or at least one) vineyards! Most offer table reservations for a little under 2 hours, but all have open seating on the patios or lawns. The two vineyards pictured here are just a couple of options that are close to the AirBnb. We have TONS of vineyards/wineries, so we may choose a different one.
Merrie Mill
Merrie Mill has a beautiful, whimsical 5,000-square-foot tasting room perfect for the summer and winter. The centerpiece, a large wood-burning fireplace, keeps guests warm on chilly days.
Southwest Mountain

After the vineyard(s?), we will head back to the AirBnb for game night! My favorite delivery man will bring us a full pasta spread from Luce! Bring (or reach out to me about) any games you think would be fun to play!
